On October 25th, there was a theme event for the youth of Yancheng City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the legal seat of the United Nations of the People’s Republic of China, co-sponsored by the China Communist Youth League Yancheng Committee, the Yancheng Education Bureau, the Foreign Affairs Office, and the People’s Government of Jianhu County in Jianhu County. 16 international students were invited to participate in this event.
The celebration was divided into three stages: retrospecting history, standing on the present, and seeking common development. During the period, the international students watched the bilingual historical melodrama Returning to the UN General Assembly, listened to the special lecture The Changing World and China Entering a New Era by Yang Yi, Secretary General of the China Institute of International Studies, and participated in Yancheng Youth-Friendly City Construction exchange meeting. After the meeting, the international students also took part in the Jianhu Tour of International Youth League, visited the former residence of Qiao Guanhua, the Luyi Martyrs Cemetery in Central China and the Huai Opera Town of Jianhu, in order to further understand the culture and humanistic spirit of Yancheng.
Through this event, our international students have experienced the unique wetland resources, long history and culture, distinctive industrial characteristics, and customs of Jianhu County, deepening their feelings and understanding of the local culture of Yancheng.
