On the morning of 11th October, the school held the opening ceremony for the 2024 class of international students in China in the Academic Auditorium.
At the ceremony, President Liu Yushen, on behalf of the school, extended a warm welcome to more than 140 international students from six countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus and Vietnam this year, and briefly introduced the local culture of Yancheng and the basic situation of the school. He pointed out that all the international students should be brave to meet the challenges of the new environment, cherish the opportunity to study in school, continuously improve their professional skills and comprehensive quality, and achieve a bright future; respect the multicultural differences, learn to listen and understand, and adapt to the environment as soon as possible; actively participate in the social practice, share the story of China, and act as the messenger of spreading peace and friendship, and blossom in the most splendid glory.
Representatives of the international students made speeches, sharing their experiences of learning Chinese and coming into contact with Chinese culture, and expressing their good wishes of learning and progressing together with Chinese students.
Shao Congqing, secretary of the Party Committee of the university, put on the university emblems for the 15 representatives of international students of Class 2024 and took a group photo.
Vice President Wang Shudong presided over the opening ceremony. All university leaders, main responsible comrades of relevant departments and secondary colleges, all international students' class teachers and international students attended the ceremony.
