In order to enrich the life of international students in the winter holiday, the School of International Education has opened two series of training courses, including Traditional Chinese Culture and Enhancement of Chinese Proficiency.
The Chinese Language Proficiency Enhancement course focuses on the study and life of international students. It explains to students how to use Chinese like leave application, hospital visits, travel and shopping in supermarkets, etc., and enhances their ability to communicate and express in Chinese. The students actively participate in dialogue interaction and scene simulation. In order to help international students prepare for the Chinese Proficiency Test in March, the teacher also analyzed the exam notice and organized training and explanations of simulated test questions.
The Chinese Traditional Culture courses mainly include traditional Chinese festivals, Chinese zodiac signs, calligraphy, paper-cutting art, poetry appreciation. In order to let students understand Chinese New Year culture and feel the characteristics of Chinese New Year, we also specially set up window-cutting and writing blessings courses. Themed activities such as writing characters, making lanterns, and learning to sing New Year’s blessing songs are full of Chinese elements, so that international students can fully feel the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture and the joy and excitement of Chinese New Year.
After more than a month of language and cultural training, international students have improved their understanding and expression skills in Chinese, deepened their love and recognition of Chinese culture, and also felt the care and warmth of the school’s big family.
