On November 16, the My Family in Yancheng—Themed Observation for International Friendly People on Poverty Alleviation hosted by the Yancheng People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Dazonghu Town, a provincial-level cultural tourism town. 9 international students from YCPC were invited to participate in this event.
During the event, the international students visited the villages in Dazonghu Town, and the instructor introduced measures and achievements of the local government in pairing assistance, targeted poverty alleviation, and the development of tourism industry. Everyone watched and listened carefully to understand the development and changes in the local countryside and feel the new atmosphere brought about by the construction of the beautiful countryside. Afterwards, the students came to Dazong Lake Wetland Park and Dongjin Water City Cultural Scenic Spot to appreciate the unique local wetland scenery and feel the profound cultural heritage.
After the visit, the students participated in the seminar and exchange activities. Wang Shufang, an international student from Tajikistan of YCPC, said in her speech that it was the first time that she came to the Chinese countryside to experience the humanities and the stories of poverty alleviation, and praised the hard-working and intelligent Chinese people. Ukrainian student Lv Qian sincerely thanked the Yancheng People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries for organizing this observation activity and letting herself know a lot of Chinese stories that she has never encountered in books. Li Zhi’ai, an outstanding graduate of our college from Kyrgyzstan said that the reason why she continued to study in Yancheng was that she personally experienced the rapid development and changes of the Yancheng city, and hoped that she could work in Yancheng.
